CONGRATULATIONS to this year’s winners of the $5,000 Gert Vorsteher Educational Bursary - Amanda Albers & Jeremy Jackson!
Jeremy was self-employed as a carpenter before his injury that left him with an incomplete spinal cord injury and was unable to return to work. He had extensive experience in project management but lacked the certification. Jeremey is now enrolled in PMP program at the University of British Columbia. Amanda was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at birth. She spent endless hours in physical therapy at Children’s Hospital growing up, but at an early age decided she was going to challenge herself and try new things like sports. Amanda allocated allot of her time towards scholastic achievements. She is now enrolled in her 2nd year of Bachelors of Applied Science degree at UBC for Chemical Engineering.
